THE SKINDLE FIELD GUIDE

Understanding Price Check

Price Check tests your knowledge against a saved reference. It is not a live market quote or an offer to buy or sell a skin.

What price are you guessing?

The game uses a recorded lowest listing from Steam Community Market in euros for the exact skin and wear shown on screen. These entries are non-StatTrak and non-Souvenir. The catalog's current price snapshots were checked on 12 September 2026. The individual check date is displayed under the item in each round.

Steam listings can change after that check. A price on a cash marketplace is also not the same reference as a Steam listing. If you see a different price today, that does not automatically mean your answer was entered incorrectly: this game scores against its dated snapshot.

Same name does not always mean the same item

Before estimating a price, read the wear label. Factory New, Minimal Wear, Field-Tested, Well-Worn and Battle-Scarred are distinct market variants. StatTrak and Souvenir versions are excluded here. Sticker value, special pattern premiums and unusually low floats are not priced individually in the game.

After the round, the result dialog links to the skin's Steam Community Market page. That page can show a newer price than the one used to score your round. A saved round keeps its reference price so the target does not change between guesses.

How the feedback is calculated

Let the reference be P and your guess be G. The difference is the absolute value of G − P. Green wins when that difference is at most 3% of P, including the boundary. Otherwise, yellow means the difference is within the game's proximity margin: the largest of €2, the smaller of €10 and 20% of P, or 10% of P. Anything further away is red.

Illustrative reference prices, not quotes for particular skins
ReferenceGreen winning rangeYellow margin*
€10€9.70–€10.30Within €2
€50€48.50–€51.50Within €10
€100€97–€103Within €10
€500€485–€515Within €50

*Green takes priority. For a €100 reference, €102 wins, €108 is yellow with a lower arrow, and €120 is red with a lower arrow. Yellow is a clue, not a completed round.

Why some skins are missing from this mode

The current catalog contains 66 skins, but only 63 have a recorded positive Steam price. Entries without one are excluded from Price Check rather than given an invented price. They can still appear in Classic and Splash.

A practical way to play

Start with an estimate for the displayed wear, then use the direction of the arrow to set an upper or lower bound. Keep track of both bounds as you narrow the range. Avoid repeatedly guessing the same amount: it uses another attempt without providing new information.

Use the game for practice and entertainment. For an actual transaction, check the exact item and current marketplace listing yourself; SKINDLE does not execute trades, predict prices or award skins.
